SADDLE STITCHINGThe simplest, quickest, and most cost-effective form of bookbinding is stitching (also referred to as saddle stitching). With stitching, signatures are gathered and collated together, stitches of wire are placed through the spine of the book, and the head, foot, and face are trimmed. Stitched books may have a cover that uses heavier stock than the text, or they may be self covered. Advantages of stitching include fastest run rates of any type of bookbinding we perform and the ability for books to lie completely flat when opened.
